Hi, I'm Bhavani.
MSc, Registered Psychotherapist
Individual, Couple, and Family Therapist
Pronouns: she/her
Whether it is navigating through through life transitions or bettering your relationship with yourself and others, I can foster a warm, therapeutic space where you can explore and strengthen paths towards your ideal self.
Working in-person in Mississauga, Ontario and virtually across Ontario
My Approach
First and foremost, therapy is about you! As a relational and systemic therapist, we will work together to learn more about who you hope to be in life and what supports we can strengthen to move towards your goals. We will unpack and learn more about what brought you to where you are, and discover new paths towards your ideal relationship with yourself as well as with others!
My approach is grounded in forming a trusting and collaborative relationship where we can help rewrite your story in a way that is rewarding for you. I use metaphors and analogies to help you feel empowered from the problems that might be present in your life. I use Narrative and Dialogic approaches as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy frameworks (EFT) and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT).
I graduated from the University of Guelph with a MSc in Couple and Family Therapy and a BAS degree in Psychology and Neuroscience. I also hold a certificate in Grief Education from the University of Toronto. What this means is that my approach is rooted in research backed methodology and that I come from a trauma-informed and culturally competent lens!
My areas of focus include but are not limited to; anxiety, grief, life transitions, self-esteem, LGBTQ2IA+ themes, building confidence, relational issues, navigating family dynamics, stress, and navigating future worries.

As your individual therapist, our work together will feel conversational, where I will inquire about your story, unravel the topics that weigh you down, and strengthen the narratives that empower you. We will work to build connections and support around you outside of the therapeutic space.

Sliding scale options are available for viritual individual therapy.

Couples Therapy
As a relational and systemic therapist, I am your relationship's therapist first. I am focused on fostering connection, reinventing communication, and creating a space with you that feels fair and can help you feel more connected to your partner, outside of the therapeutic space.

Family Therapy
As your family therapist, our work will look to empower each family member's voices. I aim to facilitate a space where each person is heard, and understood, and where connection can be strengthened overtime. I work relationally and systemically to help strengthen family dynamics.

I also believe that therapy should be accessible. I offer sliding scale options of $100 to $120 for individual virtual therapy currently. Consults are a perfect place for you to inquire about my sliding scale options and to see if there are currently any available slots.
